Dyfed CCTV
Professional mobile broadband installation
Practical equipment positioning, tidy cable routing and a professional setup for Welsh homes, farms, offices and rural properties.
Fast 4G and 5G mobile broadband for homes, farms and businesses across Wales. Professional installation, multi-network connectivity and practical rural internet solutions.
Send your postcode, property type and a brief description of your current broadband or mobile signal. We will assess the connectivity requirements and advise on a practical mobile broadband setup.
Access Broadband Cymru can provide grant support for eligible homes and businesses in Wales that need a new faster broadband connection. Funding may contribute towards eligible equipment and professional installation costs, subject to scheme criteria.
If you are struggling with slow broadband, poor broadband, unreliable broadband or no fibre in your area, 4G and 5G mobile broadband can provide an alternative way to get connected without relying on a conventional fixed phone or fibre line. Dyfed CCTV can assess the property, consider the available mobile connectivity, plan suitable equipment and positioning, install the system neatly and help distribute the connection where it is needed.

Access Broadband Cymru Grant Scheme
Eligible homes and businesses in Wales may be able to receive up to £800 per premises towards a qualifying new broadband solution. This is split into up to £550 for eligible equipment and up to £250 for eligible installation costs. The Access Broadband Cymru scheme is designed to help eligible Welsh properties obtain a faster connection where suitable broadband is not otherwise available, subject to the current Welsh Government criteria and approval.
Use the relevant broadband checkers and Welsh Government guidance to establish whether your Welsh premises may qualify.
Apply through the Welsh Government Access Broadband Cymru process before ordering equipment, buying brackets or beginning installation.
Wait until your offer has been accepted and check the approved limits, evidence requirements and completion deadline.
After approval, make sure the proposed broadband equipment and associated costs match the conditions and limits set out in your grant offer.
Where required, suitable antennas, brackets, cabling and other installation items can form part of the planned mobile broadband setup.
We install the agreed equipment neatly, route cabling professionally, configure the connection and provide clear invoices for the work completed.
After installation, run a speed test and save evidence showing the date, download speed and upload speed.
Upload the invoices, receipts and final speed-test evidence requested by the Welsh Government as part of the completion process.
Mobile broadband uses the 4G or 5G mobile network instead of a conventional fixed broadband line. A SIM-enabled router or mobile broadband system receives the available network connection and then provides internet inside the property through WiFi or Ethernet. In rural locations, an external antenna and careful equipment positioning can help make better use of the signal available outside the building.
Start with the postcode, existing broadband performance, property type and what the connection needs to support.
Consider the 4G and 5G connectivity available from the mobile networks rather than relying on one indoor phone reading.
Where appropriate, the setup can include an external antenna, SIM-enabled router, cabling and equipment positioned for the property.
The system is installed and configured, with WiFi or wired connectivity planned around how the property actually uses the internet.
We help Welsh properties where slow, poor or unreliable fixed broadband is getting in the way of everyday life, work and rural business.

Mobile broadband performance depends on more than a coverage-map colour. Mast distance, terrain, building construction, network load, equipment position and the network itself can all affect the connection you actually receive.

Indoor signal, thick walls, terrain, mast distance and congestion can all limit a basic mobile broadband setup.

Good equipment positioning, suitable connectivity and properly planned WiFi can create a much more practical rural internet setup.
Common questions about rural broadband, poor internet, mobile connectivity, no fibre and the Welsh Government ABC grant.
Potentially, yes. Mobile broadband uses the mobile network rather than the fixed broadband line to your property. If suitable 4G or 5G connectivity is available, it can provide another route to getting online.
You do not necessarily need to wait for fibre. 4G and 5G broadband can operate without a fibre or conventional telephone line, subject to usable mobile connectivity at the property.
Fixed-line distance, local infrastructure and WiFi can all play a part. With mobile broadband, performance can also be affected by mast distance, hills, valleys, trees, thick walls, network demand and equipment position.
No. A 4G or 5G broadband connection uses a mobile network and SIM-enabled equipment, so a conventional landline is not required.
There is no single best network for every Welsh property. EE, O2, Three and Vodafone can perform differently depending on location, mast coverage, terrain and network demand.
Where the outdoor signal is stronger than the signal inside the building, a suitable external antenna and careful positioning can help the system make better use of the available mobile connection.
The incoming broadband connection and the local WiFi network are separate. Larger properties may need access points, wired network links or wireless bridges to extend connectivity beyond the main router location.
Yes, where the available connection is suitable. Mobile broadband can support everyday online work, cloud services, card machines, remote access, CCTV and connected equipment.
Eligible Welsh premises may receive up to £800, split into up to £550 for eligible equipment and up to £250 for eligible installation costs, subject to Welsh Government approval and the conditions of the scheme.
No. Apply first and wait until your Welsh Government grant offer has been accepted before purchasing equipment or beginning installation work.
